LB5K + 10K Sunday 29th May
Sun 29/05/2022 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
The LB5K Farm Run makes a welcome return for 2022!
The Course
The LB5K course is an off-road circular route that takes in the grassy paths and farm tracks that weave their way throughout a working organic farm.
The opening and closing sections take you beside a stream, and from there the course climbs towards the open countryside and “Holywell Hill”, before gently dropping back towards the village taking in parts of the former “Midland and Great Northern” railway on the way.
The 10K course shares much of the 5k course but it also takes additional sections of the former railway line, the “Troll Bridge” and the farmyard itself with some extra little interesting bits thrown in for good measure.
With the finish line almost in sight, we have the infamous “splash and dash” option through the ford for those looking to save the extra seconds rather than using the footbridge, or just the chance to cool down!
There will be finisher’s medals for both 5k and 10k races and times are recorded by chip measurement (with thanks to J C Race Solutions!). There will be a special trophy for the first overall and the first local female and male runners home
Free parking is provided and other facilities include refreshments, bag drop and toilets.

Bag Drop
The Village Hall is located roughly opposite St Medard’s Church on the High Street will be open on the day for kit bags to be left. There is a small kitchen for those who wish to fill water bottles, and toilet facilities are also available. https://w3w.co/liner.booms.bypassed
The Venue
The event is hosted at Sheepdyke House by the kind permission of Anthony and Judy Turner and the check in, information point and finish line can all be found here. For friends, family and other supporters, refreshments, shade/shelter and seating will be available. https://w3w.co/fuzz.waggled.films
Checking In
Runners will need to collect their race pack from the race HQ when they arrive. This will include their number and of course the all-important timing chip.
For those who have registered online before 6.00pm on Friday 27th May, checking in will be a very quick process.
If we have any remaining places, we can accept entries on the day, but we have a total capacity of just 350 runners, so you may unfortunately be disappointed if you take this option.
We will endeavour to help with any place swaps due to injury or illness, but we can’t guarantee to do so, particularly if you let us know after 6.00pm on Friday 27th May
Restrictions
For the 5k event only, we are also able to extend a welcome for dogs provided they are kept on a short lead.
There is no lower limit on the age for accompanied children provided they are able to make it around the 5k course before bedtime!
As this is a hilly course with grass paths, it’s unfortunately not really suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
The Start & Finish
The start line is a short 3-minute walk from Race HQ at Sheepdyke House, so please leave sufficient time when you arrive.
The finish is at race HQ and your finishing time will be recorded as runners cross the line.
Briefing & Course Familiarisation
The course is clearly marked and race marshals will be positioned at strategic points throughout the course.
Maps showing the 5k and 10k routes are in place at Race HQ, with and if there are any lingering questions about the course or arrangements, there will be a briefing at the start line 5 minutes before the runners set off.
There is also the option for anyone wishing to do so, to familiarise themselves with the course from 8:30 am onwards on the day of the Farm Run.
